Name belt buckle - fashion item
Traditionally made from brass, these consisted of a thick rectangular frame approx. 2.5" high and up to 7" in length that could hold 3 to 7 letters or numbers. A removable thin frame with screws at the rear of the buckle held the letters in place.
Buckles were available from 4 Star General and other specialist outlets. Later developments saw the buckles available in chrome but brass remains the choice for old schoolers.
