UK MC with a back catalogue spanning over 20 years, one of the best that ever did it. Blade started off in Hip Hop after hearing Rappers Delight and other tracks around the time. Growing up in the UK from age 7 following a move from Armenia, Blade started with Beatbox & rhyming, but also experimented in grafitti, popping & locking. He was in beatbox battles from around 1981 and settled on the MC name Electron. He got the MC name Blade as a gesture to a young friend who was killed while writing grafitti, with the name Blade, so the name was carried on.
The lyrics to his first 12, Lyrical Maniac, were first penned in 1987 and appeared on wax in 1988. Blade got 300 pressed but couldn't shift any of them, so created a skip on the plastic and took them back to the manufacturer, got his money back, then released it again on Raw Bass in 1989 to great success. His full discography can be found on his Discogs page. He started his own independent label, 691 Influential, releasing only his own material.
After many tours and putting in work, Blade was ready to hang up the mic in 1997 and was going to use Fresh 97 as his last show, but found the ebergy to push through this until 2007 when he released his final work. Blade is officially retired as of now, however he appeared on the 2010 Diversion Tactics LP, "Careful On The Way Up", featuring on the track 3 card brag with D Gritty.
